Hey ladies (and gents!)...looking for an awesome way to get involved with the Pro Life movement this March? Consider donating and playing Students for Life Illinois' Brackets for Babies Challenge!
How does it work? It's SOOOOOO EASY! Visit the site listed above, and with a $15 donation, you have the chance to fill out a March Madness bracket for a shot at $250 for the winner. All your donation goes to the Pro Life movement.
Now, I know what you're thinking: "but Kristin, I don't know anything about college basketball. I barely know how my own school's team did this season!" To that I say 1) if you go to Illinois, no need to worry because your team might not be in the Tournament. and 2) the beauty of March Madness is that it is...well...madness! This means teams that should win don't, and teams that shouldn't win do! There's really no skill required in making a bracket. Plus, with your donation going towards a good cause, it's all just for fun, right?
But, if you were interested in trying to do a bracket a more "professional way," here are some tips to consider:
- always pick a #12/#5 upset. for whatever reason, there tends to be an upset of this caliber early in the tournament, so make sure you've made your "upset special" (as my Dad would say) pick.
- DON'T pick all of the #1 seeds to go to the Final Four. It rarely (if ever) happens
- check ESPN.com...they have a really interesting system for the first round that lets you view the odds of the first round match ups for free. If you don't know anything, that might give you a good start to the rest of your bracket.
- GO WITH YOUR GUT! If you like a team because it's mascot is funny, or it has pretty colors...just pick it if they feel like winners!
See? Super easy! Super fun! Super awesome! Who knew basketball could help save babies?! Check it out, and visit the SFLI Facebook page for more information and announcements for when the brackets open! Happy March Madness! :)
