Ok, y'all will have to grow with me in this because, would you believe it, I have NEVER EVER posted on a website (besides facebook) or written for a blog. And oh, I have a problem of rambling when I write....so....I apologize now, but I pray that the Lord uses my rambles for His Glory!....here we go.
My name is Mary Liz. And I am a Catholic Missionary.
I LOVE what I do...because I do it all for LOVE. Not just any love, but Love, Himself.
I have fallen in love with Jesus Christ...and now I want to...I NEED to, share Him with everyone!
I have been a missionary with this organization called FOCUS for almost 2 years, serving as a missionary on a college campus. So, as you can imagine, missionary work with 1st world college students looks a little different then missionary work to the poor in a 3rd world country. But make no mistake. We...me and you...are in a battle here people. And the college campus is one of the biggest battlefields I have seen.
This battle is a battle between God and the devil. And the prize...is YOUR soul. The thing is, this isn't one of those times where we can simply sit out and say, "Nah, I don't wanna fight this one." No, this is a battle that we are all called to fight. But the beautiful thing is, that while He asks us to fight for Him and with Him....Our Lord has already won this war. He simply asks us to be His soldiers.
Now how do we do that? How do we be His soldiers? His daughters? His Beloved? Well....that's something I'd love to continue to discover with y'all. Life as a missionary is full of unpredictable moments, joys so incredible you want to cry and struggles so immense that you feel crushed....but through it all, I know I am not alone. I know I am called, I am chosen, I am loved.
My beautiful Sisters in Christ, let's fight this battle together. I can't wait to see y'all at the great Victory Par-tay....Heaven!
.....oh and missionary life can also be full of awkward, but awesome, moments. So I'll be posting some of my "adventures" here in the future! Peace and Joy!
